Most of the trail- and ultrarunning world spent the June 26-28 weekend focused on the Western States Endurance Run in California, but here in New England there was plenty of ultra action taking place. In Massachusetts, the Moonwacker 12-hour All-Night Trail Race took place in Wrentham, though results from the run are unavailable. Additionally, a pair of ultras were held in Connecticut with the Centurion Ultra Trail Event and the Brooksvale 12-Hour Run. Results from Brooksvale were also unavailable as of the time of publication. Here in this week’s roundup we catch up on the action at Centurion, as well as New Englanders’ performances at a few races in the West, from the Black Hills 100 and the Copper Kings 100 to the Wy’East Wonder Ultras. New Englanders’ results from Western States will be included in a separate recap, but there is plenty to read in this edition of the roundup.
