MassUltra Roundup: Cayuga Trails, Hardrock, and Speedgoat

July 20-22 featured some prominent national ultramarathons, including the USATF 50-Mile Trail National Championships in New York, the notorious Speedgoat 50K in Utah, and the legendary Hardrock 100 in Colorado. Massachusetts ultrarunners toed the starting line at all of them, and we’ve included those races in this week’s roundup.

A majority of the Bay State ultrarunners who raced last weekend headed north to Vermont, and that massive event – featuring 100-mile and 100K races – will be covered in a separate story. Continue reading MassUltra Roundup: Cayuga Trails, Hardrock, and Speedgoat

This week’s roundup is a one-man show. Continue reading MassUltra Roundup: Golden Gate Trail Race

MassUltra Roundup: Forbidden Forest and the Finger Lakes 50s

The weekend prior to the Fourth of July is typically quiet on the ultramarathon scene with only a handful of options nationally. Two of them took place in the Northeast and included finishers from Massachusetts. Beverly’s Scott Defusco had the biggest weekend as he won the inaugural Forbidden Forest 30-Hour Ultra in Connecticut, and four runners from the Bay State brought home 50K finishes at the Finger Lakes 50s in New York. Both offer some light reading after a light weekend of racing. Continue reading MassUltra Roundup: Forbidden Forest and the Finger Lakes 50s
