Plenty of Miles and Good Times at ‘Not the Worst Weekend’
SOMERVILLE, Mass. – The Davis Square Runners have logged thousands of miles and entered teams in numerous races since their founding in 2011, but one thing they hadn’t done was conduct their own race.
That changed on Saturday, April 30, when the group played host to the “Not the Worst Weekend” Fat Ass 8-Hour Race. In keeping with the ”fat ass” format of some of ultrarunning’s traditional, grassroots events, “Not the Worst Weekend” had no entry fee, no frills, and gave runners the opportunity to take on as many miles as they desired during the time limit, regardless of distance preferences or ability levels.

Jake Dissinger spent the 2015 season racing at the front of the pack, highlighted by first-place finishes at the Cape Cod Trail Race 50K, BURCS Summer Fat Ass 6-Hour Run, and the Six Hours in Paradise 6-Hour Race.

WESTON, Mass. – Uncertainty abounded during the early hours of the TARC Spring Classic.
Indecisive weather fluctuated Saturday morning between a light drizzle, cool and calm, and a steady rain before giving way to sunshine and heat. Meanwhile, the action on the course proved to be equally unpredictable when a race that seemingly was decided early took a dramatic turn with 10 kilometers to go. MassUltra Roundup: Rusieckis Sweep Titles at Bull Run Run
Virginia has been mighty good to Brian and Amy Rusiecki.
Last October, the husband and wife trail-running duo from South Deerfield, Mass., traveled to Swoope, Va., and returned home with the men’s and women’s championships at the Grindstone 100.

Third Time’s a Charm for Levy at Cape Cod Trail Race 50K
Rob Levy has steadily climbed the podium at the Cape Cod Trail Race, and this year he finally reached the top.
