Bay Staters Bring the Heat: Records Fall at Summer Classic

MEDFIELD, Mass. – A year after slogging through sauna-like conditions at the TARC Summer Classic, runners were the ones causing the heat at the sixth running of the event Saturday, Aug. 13, at Noon Hill Reservation.

Gone were the 91-degree temperature and thick humidity of 2015. Ninety-six runners took to the trails Saturday, March 26, for a chilly but comfortable, snow-free six hours of running at Hale Reservation. No post-holing, Yaktrax or microspikes necessary; a 3.5-mile loop of mostly singletrack trail and rolling hills provided plenty of opportunity to run easy while ticking away the miles.
