Cape Cod Trail Race Canceled Due to COVID-19

The Cape Cod Trail Race is the second Massachusetts ultramarathon to be canceled in response to the global pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.

Race organizers made the announcement on Monday morning, March 16, via the event’s website and Facebook page.

“To our valued runners: In response to Massachusetts Governor Baker’s newly implemented restrictions on gatherings of more than 25 people, in order to combat COVID-19, the 2020 Cape Cod Trail Race has been cancelled. Please feel free to contact our race management team at info@capecodtrailrace.com with any questions or concerns. Stay well & happy running!” they wrote.

The race was scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 19, at the Crane Wildlife Management Area in Falmouth.

The Cape Cod Trail Race was the second ultra to be canceled in response to COVID-19. The Trail Animals Running Club’s TARC To Hale and Back 6-Hour Ultra on Sunday, March 22, at Hale Reservation in Westwood was also canceled.
