Since its inaugural event in 2013, Rainshadow Running’s Trail Running Film Festival has been a hot ticket for trail- and ultrarunners nationwide to see their sport featured on the big screen.

A mixture of long-form storytelling and mini-features as brief as a minute or two are a staple of the traveling festival’s format with attendees viewing around a dozen films during the two-hour event. Rainshadow has been plotting its 2018 tour in recent months, and it recently announced dates for stops in 20 cities with more to follow between early October and late December. Massachusetts will once again be a part of the action.

The film festival will once again take place at The Capitol Theatre, 204 Massachusetts Ave. in Arlington on Monday, Oct. 22. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the films begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased online at UltraSignup.
