The TARC Spring Classic holds a special place in the history of the Trail Animals Running Club as it was the first new event created specifically for the TARC Trail Series. The event has played host to some of the largest gatherings of Trail Animals in the club’s history – as well as some of the wettest gatherings of Trail Animals.

MassUltra Roundup: May 1-3 Weekend
A big weekend of ultramarathon racing in New England with four events across three states. In Maine, the 10th and final running of the Riverlands 100 took place, as did the Big A 50K. In New Hampshire, the White Lake Ultras attracted hundreds of runners to do laps around the water. In Connecticut, technical trails were aplenty at the Blue 2 Blue Challenge 50K. Results from Big A and Blue 2 Blue were unavailable at the time of publication, but we have the other events – as well as more from beyond the region – covered in this edition of the roundup.

MILTON, Mass. – There are plenty of stories about runners getting lost in the woods, encountering each other from opposite directions, or suddenly swapping positions despite a pass never taking place during the early years of the Trail Animals “Don’t Run Boston” 50K. Those were some obvious tells that someone likely misread their map, missed a turn, or had some other navigational mishap while trying to complete the event’s unmarked course on the trails of the Blue Hills Reservation.
