The 10th annual Ghost Train Trail Races and eighth annual 30-hour event took place Oct. 20-21, 2018, in Brookline, N.H. Runners took part in 30-hour and 15-mile events at the Trail Animals Running Club event. Seventy-six runners completed 100 miles within the time limit. The ninth annual Ghost Train Rail Trail Race Ultramarathons took place Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 21-22, at Camp Tevya in Brookline, N.H. Runners ran the ultra distance of their choice between 30, 45, 60, 75 and 100 miles during a 30-hour timeframe. Additionally, a 15-mile race was offered on Sunday. Scary-Fast: Caron Haunts Ghost Train Record Book with Sub-15-Hour 100-Miler
BROOKLINE, N.H. – The faint glow of a flashlight beam shook in the distance with each smooth, deliberate swing of Patrick Caron’s left arm.
Flanked by his pacer, Michael Franzino, who had just run the past 15 miles with Caron, the pair cruised into Camp Tevya, the official start/finish point for each out-and-back of the Ghost Train Rail Trail Races on Oct. 22-23.
