MILTON, Mass. – Sweat poured down Ethan Sokol’s face and soaked the light blue shirt beneath his hydration vest as he trotted into the aid station 13 miles into his adventure. A wardrobe change made little difference; the orange shirt he swapped into ultimately suffered a similar soggy fate.

Results: TARC Spring Classic

The Trail Animals Running Club played host to the 13th edition of the TARC Spring Classic 50K, marathon, half marathon and 10K trail races, as well as the inaugural free youth fun run, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Jericho Woods in Weston, Mass. In typical Spring Classic fashion, the crowd of 346 runners endured rain and soggy trails for much of the day.

Results: Trail Animals “Don’t Run Boston” 50K and 50-Mile Ultras

The Trail Animals Running Club played host to the 29th edition of the “Don’t Run Boston” 50K and 16th edition of the DRB 50-miler on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Blue Hills Reservation in Milton, Mass. Runners once again took on an unmarked course through the reservation, amassing around 5,700 feet of elevation gain for the 50K and nearly 7,000 feet of climbing for the 50-miler.

Patient Zhou Outlasts the Field for Victory at To Hale and Back

WESTWOOD, Mass. – Trail-runners in Massachusetts just endured the coldest winter of the past decade in the Commonwealth, but they were welcomed into spring with an absolutely delightful day in the woods at the eighth running of the Trail Animals Running Club’s To Hale and Back 6-Hour Ultra on Saturday, March 22, at Hale Reservation.

Results: TARC To Hale and Back 6-Hour Ultra

The Trail Animals Running Club played host to the eighth running of the TARC To Hale and Back 6-Hour Ultra on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Hale Reservation in Westwood, Mass. Runners took part in a 3.5-mile single-loop race, as well as a 6-hour race where they completed the same loop as many times as they wanted.

The Trail Animals Running Club played host to the eighth edition of the To Hale and Back 6-Hour Ultra and 3.5-mile trail race on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Hale Reservation in Westwood, Mass. Runners in the ultra had six hours to complete as many laps of the 3.5-mile course as they wanted. Runners enjoyed temperatures that ranged from 35 degrees at the start to 60 at the finish, with sunny skies and mostly dry trails. WESTWOOD, Mass. – No matter each runner’s preference, be it a carefully curated playlist or an earbud-free experience with the soothing sounds of nature, the crunch, crunch, crunch of Yaktrax, microspikes and EXOspikes was the unofficial soundtrack to the TARCtic Frozen Yeti 30-Hour Ultra on Feb. 1-2 at Hale Reservation.

Results: TARCtic Frozen Yeti 30-Hour Ultra

The Trail Animals Running Club (TARC) played host to the sixth running of the TARCtic Frozen Yeti 30-Hour Ultra and 15-Mile Night Race on Feb. 1-2, 2025, at Hale Reservation in Westwood, Mass. Runners took on a clover leaf-style course that was covered in ice and snow, encountered light snowfall at times, and endured below-freezing temperatures for the duration of the event.

The Trail Animals Running Club (TARC) played host to the sixth running of the TARCtic Frozen Yeti 30-Hour Ultra on Feb. 1-2, 2025, at Hale Reservation in Westwood, Mass. Runners had 30 hours to complete as many loops as they wanted on a clover leaf-style course consisting of three approximately 5-mile mini-loops. The course was covered in ice and a thin layer of snow, and the temperature was below freezing for the duration of the event.
