The last time Justin Kousky took on the Jug End loop was in 2023. He dazzled that day with a record-setting 43.8-mile performance, toppling a record that had stood since 2016. Results: BURCS Jug End Loop Ultra
The Berkshire Ultra Running Community for Service (BURCS) played host to the 10th annual Jug End Loop Ultra on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025 at Jug End Reservation in Egremont, Mass. Runners took on the traditional 4.2-mile loop course for 6 hours, using an abbreviated mini-loop for the final hour. A single-loop, 4.2-mile race also was offered.

Runners once again took on a 4.2-mile loop course for 6 hours, or completed a single-loop race. For those in the 6-hour event, they shifted from the main course to a 0.88-mile mini loop for the final hour.

Little did they know, the pop-up tents, trail markings, aid station tables and more would remain in storage until summer 2021.

The sixth edition of the Berkshire Ultra Running Community for Service’s (BURCS) Jug End Loop Ultra took place with in-person running on Saturday, July 31, at Jug End State Reservation in Egremont, Mass. The first four years were in-person, but the 2020 race was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021 event was a mix, with virtual competitors throughout the month of July taking part in a 4.2-mile run or 6.66-hour run, as well as in-person runners on July 31 in 4.2-mile and 6-hour races.
